Re: LPFP replacement - Results
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 06:53:44 pm
Back with an update after driving the car for some time. Cold starts are better than they used to be but I'#039m still losing rail pressure when left overnight.

On the plus side, the water trickling sound that the rear of the car used to make after stopping, is no more. The old pump likely had a failed/failing one way valve so for $100, this was a great refresh/replacement.

Hello again im just going to order the calipers and have been researching disks and have found that 312mm brembo front disks and 282mm rear disks are the correct sizes but everywhere i look i cant find correct pads sizes. autodoc list about 4 or 5 different pads for mk5 gti does anyone know

Re: Which are the right injectors
Last Poster: Bagus in Mk5 General Area on December 31, 2024, 10:54:25 pm
The injectors for the std GTI is 06F906036A. The price from Autodoc isn`t too bad. When I was looking last year I couldn`t find them cheaper than £280 each. Just make sure you don't buy them from ebay as too many dodgy sellers with fake injectors.

Hi, I wonder if anyone'#039s come across this before.

I have factory fit xenon headlights but recently had an incident with a deer. Anyway, bought a used headlight of eBay that I knew had been messed around with but wasn'#039t an issue as I have all the internals.

However, the replacement headlight is missing the indicator bulb holder. I have a good one but wondered

My mechanic couldn'#039t see my car until the New Year and I'#039ve had to use the it a couple of times for short trips - still no issues with the way it drives. Anyway, the warning has just gone out on its own :scared:

Could it have been fuel related? I question it because a few days before the warning came on I'#039ll filled the tank up from our local Asda, which I never normal

Re: Number plate light style reversing camera
Last Poster: ZoliWorks in Mk5 General Area on December 30, 2024, 09:38:06 am
Take power from the reversing light but before you feed that power to the camera, run it through a power stabilizer. Otherwise the image will come out with bad signal. The stabilizer units are mostly made in china, are cheap to get, and from my experience, burn out after about a year so dont worry too much about it'#039s placement. Put it under the plastic trunk lid cover and tie it t

This thread was a big help, so I thought I’d add my info in case it helps anyone else. nbsp Finally completed my retrofit. Main issue I ran into is a lack of coding info, and the fact that some airbags have 2 ground points and some have 3. nbsp This is for a 3 point airbag. nbsp

Re: Which brake pads and discs?
Last Poster: mcgc0 in Mk5 General Area on December 26, 2024, 11:33:29 am
Brembo used to be a decent brand until the pads started to be produced by the chinese fuf knows who makes the discs One things for certain they love to rust

Interesting, and a shame at the same time. Drags the brand down. Brembo once the go-to for brakes.

Re: Side Sill Cover
Last Poster: mcgc0 in Mk5 General Area on December 26, 2024, 11:27:53 am
Slow progress so far. UK sill covers I ordered on eBay were non-OEM and are thin grey smooth plastic type that need priming then top/final coat - my fault, I should have checked first. Taking the hit and return posting these.

The LLL part recommended earlier, when I checked availability, replied back to say part # 1K4 853 859 B 9B9 is no longer supported/offered, which i

Wrong steering module for paddles?
Last Poster: flabbymallow in Mk5 General Area on December 25, 2024, 01:13:05 am
Hi everyone,

I bought myself an mk5 r32 steering wheel with paddles and no MFSW to fit to my mk5 gti which has neither paddles or MFSW at the moment.

Throuhg my research I came to the conclusion that I did not need to replace the steering module as it seemed that as long as you had a dsg installed it was possible to recode the module to accept the paddles. Aft

Don’t like shouting out bad news but you’ve said that it’s been sitting. Maybe rod bearings? I would try dumping a few cans of engine flush additives. Make sure there isn’t a double oring on the oil filter housing.

How would rod bearings be affected from vehicle sitting? Nev
